What We Deliver

The IT Projects Schools Ask Us to Deliver Most.

Whether it is a single-site upgrade or a trust-wide rollout, we scope, plan and deliver with the care that school environments demand.

📶

Wi-Fi Upgrades

Full wireless network surveys, design and installation across your school, meeting DfE connectivity standards and supporting whole-school device use including one-device-per-pupil programmes.

💾

Server Migrations

Moving from ageing on-site servers to cloud infrastructure or modern hardware, with careful planning, testing and a rollback plan so nothing goes wrong mid-term.

💻

Device Rollouts

Supply, configuration and deployment of laptops, tablets and Chromebooks across your school estate, pre-loaded with your apps, policies and user accounts ready to go.

Cloud Migrations

Moving your school to Microsoft 365, including email migration, SharePoint setup, Teams configuration and OneDrive rollout, with staff guidance built in so adoption is smooth.

🎥

AV & Classroom Tech

Supply and installation of interactive displays, teacher walls, projectors and sound systems across classrooms, halls and reception areas, with full staff handover on completion.

🔐

Network Infrastructure

Structured cabling, switch upgrades, firewall replacement and network redesign projects, planned around your school calendar and delivered with minimal downtime.

Our Approach

Projects That Work Around the School Day.

Schools are not offices. We plan every project around your term dates, timetable and the reality of working in a live school environment.

  • Holiday scheduling - major work is planned for half terms, Easter and summer breaks wherever possible to avoid disrupting lessons.
  • Fixed-price scoping - before any work begins, we provide a clear scope and fixed cost so there are no surprises for your school business manager or bursar.
  • A single point of contact - one project lead who knows your school, coordinates the team and keeps you updated throughout.
  • Handover and documentation - every project finishes with full documentation and a handover session, so your team knows what has changed and how it works.
  • Works alongside your existing support - we can deliver projects even if another provider handles your day-to-day IT. No contract required.

"We'd spent thousands on new wireless hardware that sat in its box for six months under our old provider. Holker gave us stability and a long-term vision for our network, starting with a full new installation."

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions.

Do we need to be a managed support customer to use your project services?

No. We deliver standalone IT projects for schools regardless of who provides their day-to-day support. If you already have an IT provider in place, we can work alongside them or take on the project independently.

Can project work be scheduled during school holidays?

Yes, and we actively recommend it for disruptive work like cabling, server migrations or large device rollouts. We plan around your school calendar from the start and are used to working over half terms and summer breaks.

Do you provide a fixed price before starting?

Yes. Following a site survey we provide a fixed-price proposal so there are no surprises. Any changes to scope that arise during delivery are flagged and agreed before they affect cost.

Can you support DfE-funded projects like Connect the Classroom?

Yes. We can help schools understand their eligibility for DfE funding schemes including Connect the Classroom, and manage the project delivery once funding is secured. Visit our School Network and Wi-Fi page for more detail.

What areas do you cover for project work?

We work with schools across the UK, with on-site engineers based across Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Remote support and project coordination is available nationwide.
