Detectronic achieve Cyber Essential Accreditation

Steve Woods, MD of Nelson based water management systems, Detectronic was delighted to receive their Cyber Essentials (CE) accreditation this January.

The accreditation was the culmination of 3 months work, working with Holker IT to update their internal IT controls and working practices, all focused on improving the security of their networks and data.

Detectronic’s Project Leader – Phil Tuxford – ‘Putting in place strong password policies, wifi controls and locking down PC’s and laptops can be a big culture change for any business and is often seen as a barrier to efficiency. Working with Holker IT we started to appreciate and understand the cost to the business of not taking such measures. The value of a £500 laptop quickly spirals when you realise how much data and access it contain and the thought of losing one doesn’t bear thinking about.’

Detectronic hope that the CE mark will stand them in good stead in winning new contracts in the UK water authority sector. Well done Detectronic.

Keeping British business safe.
